Below and Beyond
by Kathleen Van Lieu
Below and Beyond merges abstract and natural forms. Layers of cool, textured blues draw the eye into a realm of quiet depth, while earthen lines trace hidden shapes that evoke distant cliffs and their mirrored stillness. Above, branches or roots seem to descend into the scene, weaving a connection between sky and water, earth and air. The composition invites contemplation to a space that feels both grounded and ethereal, a meditation on the unseen landscapes that lie just beneath the surface.
